IN CHARGE ELECTRIC
Our History
Founded in 2007, In Charge Electric exists to revolutionize residential electrical installations by combining quality service, expertise, and commitment to excellence. We’ve since expanded our network into other states, merging with electrical companies built on proven expertise and outstanding reputations since 1948.
Our Foundation
In Charge Electric was founded in 2007 and by 2009, opened its second branch in Frisco, TX, responding to growing customer demand in the Dallas area.
As the company continued to expand, it diversified its services. In 2011, In Charge began providing light fixtures in addition to its high voltage services. This expansion was complemented by significant growth in its workforce, and by 2013, the company had hired its 50th full-time employee and opened a third branch in Temple, TX.
Smart Home Technology
In 2016, In Charge launched a new division focusing on smart home technology, low voltage, and security, marking a significant expansion of its service offerings. The company also opened a Home Design Center and wired its 30,000th home. By the end of that year, In Charge had hired its 200th full-time employee, reflecting its rapid growth and success.
The company celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017 by opening its sixth branch in Royse City, TX. In Charge’s expansion continued at a remarkable pace. In 2020, despite the challenges of a tumultuous year, In Charge was awarded the EY Entrepreneur of the Year for Central Texas. The company acquired Calvin’s Electric in Dripping Springs, establishing its seventh branch, and remarkably, retained its entire workforce, providing support and stability to hundreds of families.
Expanding Beyond Texas
In 2021, In Charge reached another milestone by wiring its 80,000th home and opening its eighth branch in Houston, TX. The following year, the company expanded beyond Texas for the first time by acquiring Lenhart Electric in Wildwood, FL. In 2023, In Charge further extended its reach by acquiring P.S. Electric in Prescott, AZ, and in 2024 acquired Long Electric in Greenville, SC.
Through its relentless pursuit of excellence and customer satisfaction, In Charge has grown from a small team of three into a leading provider of residential electrical solutions with a presence across multiple states.
